  • April 2014 – Emily Weers, Texas A&M & Missy Peterson, Univ of MN connected while looking for peers interested in networking with other professionals in the field
  • March 2015 – Started Google Group
  • March 2015 – Group of 5-6 met at the Forum
  • October 2015 – 12 members met at NACUBO Global Ops
  • February 2016 – 13 participants held 1st Conference at Arizona State Univ
  • Summer 2016 – Officially named ourselves HEIBO
  • October 2016 – 26 Participants attended 2nd Conference at Univ of Minnesota
  • October 2016 – Voted on a HEIBO Logo
  • October 2016 – Members volunteered to serve on committees
  • Summer 2017 – Rotating Steering Committee & Conference Planning Committees started meeting
  • October 2017 – 43 registered participants attended 3rd Annual Conference at Rutgers
  • October 2017 – Developed HEIBO Mission/Vision
  • October 2017 – Discovered HEIBO in Chinese = Black Wave
  • January 2018 – Rolled out Website
  • January 2018 – Best Practices Small Working Groups (SWGs) started working on their area of interest – presentations/updates at the Fall 2018 Conference.
  • October 2018 – 74 registered participants attended the 4th Annual HEIBO Conference hosted by UT Austin, with collaboration with Texas A&M and Baylor.
  • October 2019 – Developed HEIBO Bylaws
  • September 2020 – 263 registered participants attend the HEIBO virtual conference
